Pau Gasol, one of the centerpieces of the Los Angeles Lakers back-to-back championships in ‘09 and ‘10, was honored at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday night.

The talented big man saw his No. 16 jersey head to the rafters alongside his long-time teammate and good friend, Kobe Bryant.

It was a touching ceremony, rife with tears from Gasol, Vanessa Bryant, and many of those in attendance or watching at home.

During his speech, Gasol showed love to Vanessa and her daughters, before talking about his late friend.

“I miss him so much, like many of us do … I wish he was here with Gigi, I really do. But, I think he’ll be proud and he was looking forward to this moment. I love you brother.”

Congratulations to the Lakers legend for a much-deserved honor.
