Parents Furious After School Allows Kentucky Teen Who Compiled ‘Kill List’ to Return to School

Parents living in a Kentucky school district are expressing their concerns and anger after school administrators made what they see as an unacceptable move.

A teenager who allegedly created a “kill list” of fellow students has been allowed to return to the classroom with their children.

Parents spoke out last week after Boone County Board of Education let the 14-year-old go back to school despite being charged with second-degree terroristic threats.

One parent said in a school board meeting, “Whatever help he has gotten, he is still a threat.”

Another parent, whose child was on the teenager’s “active kill list,” got emotional as he described hearing that the teen would return to school; “When I received the call from the principal, it was emotionally devastating. All I could think about was my child was in danger when they did nothing wrong.”

The Boone County School District Superintendent (Matthew Turney) said his hands were tied, and he urged parents to “talk to your local state legislator.”

The Kentucky State Constitution guarantees the right to a public education without prejudice, so the student must return. The Superintendent promised that the kids will be safe. However, in a letter to parents, “I can assure you that all appropriate safety measures have been taken and are in place. Connor High School remains a safe school.”
