In a new TikTok, influencer Hallie Batchelder says that she didn’t realize that a power bill was something you had to “crunch numbers and plug ’em in for. I thought they would just assume I needed that.”

Batchelder said she didn’t even realize she wasn’t paying it, but that upon going through her emails, she did find a termination notice.

She said her first hint that something was amiss was when her apartment’s front desk called to say that there was a utility worker downstairs.

Batchelder says, “I didn’t know it was that serious. But now I’m scared there’s like an angry electrician downstairs with a pair of pliers ready to pull my teeth out.”

Luckily, Hallie, utility workers only pull teeth from nonpaying customers every other Thursday. You’re in the clear, this time.
