Not Much Of Comeback For Victoria’s Secret

Victoria’s Secret is trying too hard to cater to its audience and it shows. The brand came back on the map with a total brand makeover in order to please modern body positivity trends. However, it’s obvious that designing for someone who doesn’t look like some supernatural spiritual being isn’t something Victoria’s Secret excels in. Not to mention, fans of the lingerie label are not impressed.

Social media users have been expressing their opinions over the brand’s marketing prior to the 2023 fashion show, and now that they’ve seen it, they have more to say.

TikTok user @evie.magazine says in a video, “Victoria’s Secret, what have you done? You have made the girlies so mad. Gen Z is out here pissed at the execution of the tour.”

Evie shared clips from the 2023 tour that resembled nothing of what the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has ever been. She says, “You know what I think of when I hear Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show? I think of wings, runway, beautiful tall skinny models who are genetic freaks of nature.”

The TikTok user continues, “Second reason why the girlies are mad is because they just want the OG Victoria’s Secret back.” Adding, “Gen Z just wants one brand that has models and clothes that are vibrant fun, and just extremely attractive. Just one. And, it needs to be Victoria’s Secret because that’s what the brand is and what we know it for and we just need to stick to that.”

Evie concluded, “And if Victoria’s Secret wants to include all kinds of models that’s fine, but like give them something better to wear. Give them wings. Pick out the ones that can strut down the runway,”
