Nightmare United Airlines Flight Canceled After 6 Hours of Waiting On Tarmac and a Forced Refuel

Waiting on the tarmac because your plane is delayed is one of the worst experiences in travel. Worse than being stuck in an airport during an unexpectedly long layover and there are no hot chicks at the bar.

The cabin starts to smell, everyone’s pissy and you can’t tell where the farts are coming from (group immunity)—it’s basically hell on earth.

One plane full of travelers experienced a perfect storm after as they were forced to wait/sit for over 6 hours before the flight was eventually canceled—because the crew had been there too long. FACTZ is only recycling this information today because of our love for United Airlines and how shitty they treat their passengers. Even their ice sucks. Too large and impossible to suck on.

Business Insider wrote that “A United Airlines flight had to refuel after taxiing for six hours at Newark airport.” Because the plane sat so long, they no longer had enough fuel to make the trip. As if that wasn’t bad enough, though, the flight was eventually “canceled because its crew reached their working-hours limit.”

What about travelers reaching their “sitting on their asses waiting for people to do their job” limit?

“One passenger onboard the flight was Hiroko Tabuchi, a New York Times reporter, according to tweets seen by The Independent, some of which seem to have been deleted.” Tabuchi tweeted that the plane kept taxiing around the airport. Then later tweeted that she had been sitting on the plane for six hours. Tabuchi also responded to another passenger who tweeted, “If anyone over at @united is reading this: UA 3433 landed at Newark at 5pm. It’s now almost 8pm, no word of reaching a gate yet. Your incompetence has people sitting in an airplane for hours with barely any updates. Figure your shit out. This is ridiculous.”

United Airlines responded to the tweets (how useful) and apologized for the extended delay. But like most apologies, it fixed exactly nothing and passengers remained stuck on the plane.

The moral of the story, we need to open Mars immediately. The old guard is making life miserable.

  • Most people I know are driving to where they go if the destination is under 12 hours. It is ridiculous what the airlines are doing. My daughter and her fam had to attend a wedding out of state and because of delays/cancellations they added two more days and a thousand bucks in hotel rooms and food. You have kids stuck in an airport all they want to do is eat and we all know how expensive airport anything is.
