The internet is chattering about a rumor that suggests Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi intentionally bought 10k shares of Amgen – a company that makes drugs used to treat radiation sickness – because she may believe nuclear war is on the horizon.

The rumor has been spreading among investment communities online. It follows official word that the US has purchased $290M worth of anti-radiation drugs to be “better prepared” in case of a nuclear incident.

While politicians have been hesitant to take a stance one way or the other about the potential for a nuclear war with Russia, if Pelosi did, purchase the stocks, she could be making a case for concern in the near future.

Amgen also focuses its biotechnology products and research on “cardiovascular disease, oncology, bone health, neuroscience, nephrology and inflammation,” but the timing can’t be coincidental.
