The home of the Miami Heat is getting a temporary new name: Miami-Dade Arena.

This comes after the extraordinary flop of the crypto exchange FTX.

The arena has worn the moniker of “FTX Arena” since 2021. Still, the county asked to rename it in November after claiming that continuing to refer to it by that name would add to “enduring hardships” brought about by the end of FTX.

FTX famously collapsed late last year, and its founder and former CEO is now jailed (under house arrest) for wire fraud.
