Metro Nashville PD Officers are Being Hailed Heroes

FACTZ has received images of the two hero cops who took down Nashville elementary school shooter Audrey Hale, 28. Armed officer Rex Engelbert, a four-year veteran, fired the first shots while his teammate Officer Michael Collazo, a nine-year veteran, fired second.

Both Metro Nashville PD officers are being hailed heroes for their crucial part in the takedown of Hale, a former student who was heavily armed with three guns, two of them assault-type weapons. Hale, who was transgender and identified as a male, was killed after shooting dead three children and three adults at Covenant Church School on Monday.

The victims have been identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, William Kinney, and Hallie Scruggs, all age nine. Mike Hill, age 61; Cynthia Peak, age 61; and Katherine Koonce, age 60.

Police say writings recovered from Hale have revealed that the attack was calculated and planned. A search warrant executed at Hale’s home has resulted in the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun, a second shotgun, and other evidence.
