Manhunt for Suspect in Murder of Top Investigative Journalist in Las Vegas

Horror shook the Las Vegas community Labor Day weekend when news began to spread that lauded Las Vegas investigative journalist Jeff German was killed outside his home.

Reports say that German was the victim of multiple stab wounds.

Now images of a potential suspect, dressed in an orange work vest and a wide brim hat,  are being circulated. Police are asking those in the surrounding neighborhoods, close to where German lived, to check their security cameras from Friday as a suspicious individual was seen casing the area.

German covered the biggest news of the last 30 years, including the 1 October mass shooting at Route 91 country music festival, the murder of Ted Binion, the FBI raid of Nevada State Treasurer candidate Michele Fiore’s home and just about every other court, politics, labor, government and organized crime related story.

When news broke of German’s death, the first thought that crossed everyone’s minds was could it be retaliation for a story he was working on?

Was this a hit? Las Vegas has seen this type of thing before … and no one is sacred.

Only time will tell if this is a portal back into the bomb-under-the-Cadillac at Tony Roma’s on Sahara days when Vegas was under siege by the mafia. Cue Casino …
