Luka Dončić Fuels Incredible Comeback With Performance For The Ages

You know you had a special night when you put up a stat line that even the great Wilt Chamberlain never replicated.

Well, that is precisely what Luka Doncic did on Tuesday night against the New York Knicks, becoming the first player in NBA history to record 60+ points, 20+ rebounds, and 10+ assists in a game.

The historic performance alone would have been enough to drop jaws, but how he got there added to the magnitude of his night.

The Mavericks were down by nine points with less than 35 seconds left in the game. Over the past 20 years, NBA teams were 0-13,884 when trailing by at least nine points in the final 35 seconds of a game.

After free throws gave the Knicks a three-point lead with seven seconds remaining, they purposely fouled Doncic to send him to the line. Luka made the first free throw before executing a perfect miss on the second one, gathering his own rebound, and hitting a jumper to tie the game with a second on the clock.

The Mavs, fueled by Luka, would go on to win in overtime.

What an unbelievable performance by one of the league’s most remarkable players.
