Lufthansa Tells Passengers to Delete Video Proof of Severe Turbulence That Forced an Emergency Landing

Passengers on Lufthansa flight 469 were injured when the plane hit sudden “severe turbulence” over Tennessee while en route to Frankfurt, Germany.

Videos and photos of the aftermath shown personal items strewn everywhere and dazed passengers trying to regain their bearing.

But passengers say a Lufthansa flight attendant came over the loudspeaker – twice – and told them to delete photos and videos of the incident.

The attendant belatedly said that the request was due to privacy concerns of other passengers, but they’re being shady about the entire incident.

The airline said passengers only suffered “minor” injuries, but at least one passenger – who spoke with Business Insider – suffered a concussion, badly bruised arm and potentially fractured hip.

The passenger told Insider, “It was one of those moments where within five-to-ten minutes of processing, you knew you were going to die and we didn’t know if we were going to make it safely anywhere. It felt like the insides of your body were being shaken out.”

It’s unclear what caused the turbulence, and Lufthansa has been tight-lipped about the incident.
