Logan Paul Believes Dillon Danis Will Flake on Fight

YouTube sensation Logan Paul is gearing up for his upcoming fight against Bellator fighter Dillon Danis, scheduled for October 14th at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. The six-round bout, set at 195 pounds, is one of the co-main events of Misfits Boxing’s The PRIME Card.

However, despite having the fight officially lined up, Paul isn’t entirely convinced that Danis will actually step into the ring, given Danis’ withdrawal from a previous bout against KSI earlier this year. To account for this uncertainty, Paul has enlisted the services of former UFC fighter and bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry as his official backup.

“We spend about 25 percent of our time preparing for Mike, just in case,” Paul revealed during an interview with Ariel Helwani. “We might have to up that in these last couple of weeks, but I think these next 10 days or so we’ll know if Dillon is coming.”

This situation is less than ideal for Paul, and he acknowledges some level of anxiety if Danis fails to show up for the fight. Perry is a formidable opponent, particularly in striking, and Paul has been primarily focused on preparing for a southpaw MMA fighter like Danis for the past two months. Shifting gears to face an orthodox fighter like Perry on short notice could disrupt his game plan.

“It sucks because Mike Perry is no joke and he’s an orthodox fighter,” Paul admitted. “When you’ve been preparing for a southpaw MMA fighter for two months, studying his tactics, getting his technique down to beat a southpaw, and you’re not sure that guy is going to show up. Instead, the guy that’s going to show up is a brick of a human, a tank who walks forward and can take any shot possible in an orthodox position, it’s going to f*ck up my game plan, to be honest.”

Nevertheless, Paul chose Perry for a reason, relishing the challenge and opting for the toughest opponent he could find. He has faith in his skills and believes that whoever stands across from him in the ring that night will ultimately face a knockout.
