Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is likely to miss multiple weeks with a foot injury.

The 38-year-old, who was enjoying another statistically dominant season, suffered the injury during Sunday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks.

It is a brutal turn of events, as the Lakers had recently made some sizable trades in an effort to fuel their playoff push. They had won four of their last five games to climb to 12th in the Western Conference standings, but it seems like a tall task to continue their level of play without James.

Even if the newly acquired D’Angelo Russell helps shoulder some of the scoring load, there is no way to replace what the future Hall-of-Famer brings to the table.

It is a massive shame that we may miss out on seeing LeBron in the playoffs this year.
