FACTZ caught up with comedian Jo Koy ahead of his Madison Square Garden appearance at the New York Comedy Festival.

He shared his biggest tip for how he prepares to get on stage, and you’ll never guess what the magic to success is: pee first. “I’m gonna be honest with you. I try and pee as much as I can. I drink a lot of water, but I try and pee as much as I can.”

Apparently, Koy once forgot to pee before going on stage – and it became a bit of an incident. “So now I’m traumatized, and that is really a thing.”

Koy then shared that he doesn’t get nervous before being on stage. For him, it’s like talking one-on-one with people; “I love it. It’s MSG, man. It’s a different kind of nervous.”

When asked about dating as a celebrity, Koy explained, “I try not to [date]. I stay busy, and it’s not fun right now for me. I’m in a different city basically every day, so it’s not gonna be fun.”

Koy also drops a little hint that he wants to make an announcement about some upcoming projects but can’t yet – a tantalizing hint of what’s to come.
