The dating world is depressing.
It’s filled with fake people, unmet expectations, and dashed hopes. Even though dating can eventually result in lifelong partnership and joy, it’s not always a pleasant landscape.
And it seems like Gen Z wants to opt out entirely. They’re happier just being with friends.
TikToker @perfectangel777 captures these feelings in a new video, explaining that she would rather just be with her friends than risk of wasting time on a date.
New data shows that Gen Z is twice as likely as older generations to date a friend rather than seek a connection with someone out of their circle.
Maybe it’s a result of the pandemic and circles made tight by necessity. Or maybe they’re tired of the lie of it all.
Either way, data shows that Gen Z is choosing to more frequently date friends, place less importance on the necessity of relationships lasting long term, and having less casual sex.
Which means that dating apps could be a dying breed.
