Former SNL star Chris Redd was attacked outside the Comedy Cellar on Wednesday night as Redd was making his way into the club to perform.

Redd and his cousin were outside the famous Mcdougal Comedy Club when two men jumped Redd, punching him in the face multiple times. Sources tell FACTZ that the two guys were waiting outside the Comedy Cellar for thirty minutes. One guy wore a mask, and the other wore sunglasses to hide their identity.

FACTZ had learned that Redd’s cousin was inside the Cellar when he was attacked. There was a lot of blood as Redd left the club in an ambulance, rushed to Bellevue Hospital NYC Health. No word yet if the attackers were caught.

A week before the SNL season opener, Redd announced he was not coming back to the show to focus on other projects like a new stand-up special. Meanwhile, FACTZ also reported that Redd is dating former co-star Kenan Thompson’s ex-wife, Christina Evangeline.

FACTZ broke the story that there was some anger on Thompson’s side since his ex-wife leaked the information of her dating Redd to control the narrative … saying everything was fine between her and Thompson, but it wasn’t.

We are not saying Kenan Thompson had anything to do with Chris Redd being attacked by two random guys on the street, but it does make you wonder … the story is developing.
