A massive fire overtook a migrant detention facility on the border between the US and Mexico, leading to a number of fatalities.
So far at least 39 people have died from the blaze, with dozens more injured.
Local media reports say that the fire may have been intentionally set. It began in the restrooms and may have been purposefully lit during a riot.
It started late Monday at the National Institute of Migration in Ciudad Juarez, feet from the Stanton International Bridge linking the city to El Paso, Texas.
Officials haven’t released any information, but local media says that in addition to the 39 dead, 40 people were taken to area hospitals.
This is a huge mistake by homeland security.
