And now, as horrors unfold in Iran in the wake of the state-sanctioned police custody murder of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, the fashion world has gone silent.

Except for one – Balenciaga.

Balenciaga has removed its social media posts and only has one visible position, “woman life freedom.” The caption reads, “Balenciaga, Kering, and the Kering Foundation have always supported the fight for women’s fundamental rights and freedom. We stand with all Iranian women in memory of Mahsa.”

It’s a great start – now, if only the rest of the fashion world would do the right thing, people might pay attention.
