Evacuation and Police Response at Santa Monica Pier’s Pacific Park

The episode unfolded at approximately 3 p.m. when witnesses overheard the man making concerning statements regarding his purported possession of a bomb.

At a certain juncture, the individual ascended the renowned Ferris wheel and adamantly refused to descend.

In response, a crisis negotiation team was summoned to the scene and initiated communication with the man in an effort to secure his surrender.

After approximately an hour of dialogue with the individual, he began to descend from the structure voluntarily. Law enforcement swiftly apprehended him just prior to 4:30 p.m., resolving the situation.
