FACTZ spoke with British sports promoter Eddie Hearn on the streets of New York City, and he shared a wealth of information on everything from Jake Paul and Amanda Serrano to upstart boxers and more.

Hearn explained that while Paul gets a lot of hate for his unconventional start to boxing, he’s legit. Hearn said Paul is “no longer a YouTube boxer, he’s a professional boxer.”

And that, “sometimes the boxing community don’t like that,” thinking he doesn’t deserve the accolades of “real boxing” because he started as an influencer.

But Hearn said of Paul, “he’s built the fan base to be able to do anything he wants, and he’s put the hard time in.”

Hearn also shared his thoughts on how to build a legacy, and what the boxing landscape looks like these days for new boxers just starting out.
