Electric Zoo, the renowned three-day EDM festival based in New York City, left eager fans awaiting its kick-off disheartened on Friday. In a last-minute announcement, organizers conveyed the unfortunate news that the festivities planned for the first day had to be abruptly canceled. Among the scheduled performers for that day were the Chainsmokers, Galantis, Acraze, and Kx5 (Deadmau5 and Kaskade).
In a lengthy statement posted on their official website early Friday morning (below), the festival producers expressed their deep regret. They attributed the cancellation to the unprecedented challenges posed by the events of the year, stating, “This year has presented unparalleled challenges for everyone. The global supply chain disruptions have impacted industries worldwide, and, sadly, our beloved festival has not been immune. These unexpected delays have prevented us from completing the construction of the main stage in time for Day 1.”
