Dana White’s ‘Power Slap’ Show Cuts Ties with TBS, Moving to Online Platform

“Power Slap: Road to the Title” has broken up with TBS. “Power Slap” Season 1 ran eight episodes on TBS that started January 18, and averaged 293K viewers per episode and showed a reality series glimpse behind the curtain of the Power Slap League.

Season 2 will not appear on the broadcast network, instead moving to an online platform.

This week, TBS confirmed that the slap-fighting reality series was moving on.

UFC and PSL head honcho Dana White has confirmed that the series will now air streaming on Rumble. He told reporters at a News conference after the Power Slap 1 live-stream, “I know the formula for this stuff now. We’re going to move fast. I’ve got a two-year deal with Rumble. And the Abu Dhabi deal, we’re still working it out with them. But I’d love to do two seasons with them, do Season 2 and Season 3 over there.”

PSL is not without controversy, however, with health professionals and other sports experts calling the sport “sad” and exploitative.

Former Nevada Athlete Commission (NAC) chairman Stephen Cloobeck helped approve slap fighting recently and said that he regretted approving it. He called it a “mistake.”

PSL’s future remains unclear, but Dana White is clearly prepping for the long haul.
