Culinary Union Workers to Stage Massive Strike Warning on Thursday

On Thursday, Vegas Starfish documented thousands of Culinary Union workers are set to stage a significant protest outside Las Vegas Strip properties. Negotiations with MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment, and Wynn Resorts have been ongoing for the past six months.

In a show of unity, culinary union members will gather in three key areas along the Strip to demand improved wages and working conditions. Their concerns encompass safety issues, workload, and the impact of inflation. Demonstrations will take place outside the Paris, Park MGM, and the Linq, with the possibility of extending the protest to nearby properties.

The picket is scheduled for two sessions, from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Ted Pappageorge, Secretary-Treasurer of the Culinary Union, expresses his disappointment with the ongoing negotiations and underscores that Thursday’s picket serves as a stark warning to the Strip properties. If an agreement cannot be reached in the upcoming bargaining sessions, a strike may become a reality within the next few weeks, as the union possesses the necessary support for such action.
