UPDATE: Chrissy Teigen Reveals that 2020 ‘Miscarriage’ Was Actually Abortion ‘To Save My Life’

UPDATE 09/17/2022:

Chrissy Teigen has now spoken out in response to a number of nasty tweets she received after opening up about her abortion revelation.

Teigen told trolls to “do their worst,” after laying it all out in the open.

The model and influencer screenshot a number of nasty messages, posting them with the caption, “I knew this would happen, and honestly I’ve already seen you do your worst so if this makes you feel better, great. It doesn’t make me feel worse though.”

Many comments called her a drama queen, or accused her of giving more information than people were interested in.

Others called her an attention seeker and irrelevant. Teigen even clarified that it wasn’t the comment section of a tabloid, it was a legitimate post that she found the comments on; “This isn’t like, the daily mail or something btw. It’s the glamour magazine comment thread! Brutal.”

Chrissy Teigen publicly grieved a lost pregnancy in 2020, in front of the world.

It was a raw and revealing moment for the model and influencer as she and husband John Legend had to share that a desperately wished-for pregnancy ended in loss.

Now, she has revealed that it wasn’t a spontaneous miscarriage – it was an abortion.

Speaking at the “Day of Unreasonable Conversation” this week, Teigen opened up about the truth.

Teigen said that at the time, she didn’t realize that’s what it would be considered, but that an abortion was necessary, “to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance.”

Teigen revealed at the time of her loss that she had been hospitalized for excessive blood loss and that they weren’t able to stop the bleeding and keep the baby alive despite “bags and bags” of fluids.

To stop the bleeding and save Teigan’s life, abortion was necessary. After the overturn of Roe V Wade, Teigen began to grapple with her memories of what happened and realized that it was important to speak up.

She explained this week, “I told the world we had a miscarriage, the world agreed we had a miscarriage, all the headlines said it was a miscarriage. And I became really frustrated that I didn’t, in the first place, say what it was, and I felt silly that it had taken me over a year to actually understand that we had had an abortion.”

Teigen and Legend are pregnant again now with their third child, and things appear to be going well.
