Police in Southern California has seized a staggering 20,000 Fentanyl pills in a massive drug bust during a traffic stop.
This comes as San Bernandino County issued a health warning about overdose deaths related to the drug. Fentanyl overdoses spiked to 309 in the county last year, up from 227 in 2020. In 2019, there were 74 deaths, and in 2018 only 30.
Narcotics officers stopped three individuals in a car for unspecified vehicle code violations in San Bernandino County and discovered a jaw-dropping stash of Fentanyl.
In addition to the 20,000 pills, police found a half-ounce of cocaine, a loaded gun, and over $1,200 in cash. All three individuals were arrested and face multiple felony charges; the driver was already on federal probation.
