Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury Owner Robert Sarver Suspended and Fined for Misconduct

The NBA announced today that the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury owner Robert Sarver is facing penalties after he was found to be doing some really bad shit while at work.

Sarver will now be suspended for one year and is required to pay $10 million in fines after an investigation found him guilty of “workplace misconduct and organizational deficiencies.”

One year ago, a law firm opened an investigation into Sarver’s behavior over what was referred to as “racist, misogynistic and hostile” incidents in the workplace.

The investigation found among other incidents that Sarver “used the N-word” at least five times and “engaged in instances of inequitable conduct” towards female employees.

During his suspension, Sarver will be prohibited from being present at any NBA or WNBA facility, including offices, arenas and practice facilities.

He must also complete a training program focused on respect and appropriate conduct in the workplace.
