Amanda Bynes’ Psych Hold Will Most Likely Be Extended

On Sunday, former child star Amanda Bynes flagged down a car in Los Angeles and called the police to turn herself in for a psychiatric hold.

It now appears that her time in the hospital will be extended beyond the 72 hours that comes with an involuntary hold – and friends are starting to piece together what happened during the mental breakdown she’s currently in the midst of.

When Bynes flagged that car down March 19, she was naked and wandering the streets. Friends says it seems likely now that she was living on the streets for days before she made contact.

Bynes’ car was towed in Long Beach on March 15. That’s 40 miles from her home, and 25 miles from downtown Los Angeles where she was found days later.

Witnesses spotted her in Hollywood on March 18, and friends believe she was hitchhiking or taking public transportation to get around. When she was seen March 18, she was still clothed.

Sources told TMZ this week that Bynes seems to be making improvements since she entered the psychiatric facility on Sunday, but that it’s expected she will stay at least one additional week.

It’s heartbreaking that today marks exactly one year to the day that Bynes’ controversial conservatorship ended. Apparently, sources tell TMZ, her parents aren’t talking about reinstating the conservatorship. Hopefully all she needs is a little help to get back on track.
