Alyssa Farah Griffin shared an unpopular opinion on “The View” last week: that Biden’s improper handling of classified documents kills the DOJ case against Trump for similar charges.
Although, Griffin acknowledges, the facts of the cases are different, Biden mishandling documents makes it hard for Merrick Garland (who she calls “extremely cautious”) to create a case against Trump without also taking down a sitting President.
Garland appears hesitant to indict a former President, much less a sitting President, so Griffin says that Biden’s transgressions kill both cases.
Griffin calls the Biden docs scandal “a huge win for Trump.”
However, Griffin acknowledges, Trump could still face obstruction charges – something Biden likely won’t have to grapple with.
Trump should be in jail. Biden made a simple mistake. Plus the timing is way different. The documents when Biden was VP didn’t mean as much as it does now. Times are more volatile now.
