An activist on Twitter is sharing the words of a friend who works as a nuclear engineer. They were speaking about the devastating train derailment near Palestine, Ohio, and he had this dire words.
Twitter user @ashcapps says her friend told her, “if my family and I lived within a 30-mile radius of where that derailment happened, we would leave immediately and NEVER RETURN.”
The derailment caused dangerous chemicals to spill and has sparked fears of a chemical environmental disaster of epic proportions as the EPA continues to tell people it’s safe to remain in their homes.
But a towering plume of dark black smoke from a controlled burn of chemicals spilled by the train suggests that the effects are spreading further than the EPA is willing to admit.
Through air, water and over the land – people are afraid of what the train has left in its wake.
