ABC Is Planning to CUT the Red Carpet Due to the Writer’s Strike

ABC is removing their red carpet for their big budgeted “Upfronts” due to the writer’s strike. The network (ABC) dumped millions into this event to lure advertisers to show off their new programs, but fear of the planned writer’s strike outside the Javitz Center, where the Upfronts will take place, is making the red carpet a pass for the network.

This is a huge blow to ABC as they wanted to bring attention to the new shows.

Celebrities also refused to do the red carpet as they did not want to seem as if they were promoting the network during the strike. Some celebs on the list for the event are Kim Kardashian, Sandra Oh, Jack Harlow, the cast of The Bear, and many more.

Ed Sheeran was stated to perform but is no longer, as we do not know if this was due to the writer’s strike. The ABC Upfronts cost over 6 million dollars for the 4-hour event/party plus the talent fees.
