Washington podcast host Zohreh Sadeghi was killed last week by her stalker.

Before her death, Sadeghi wrote a request for an order of protection against 38-year-old Ramin Khodakaramrezaei, saying she had a “deep-seated fear” for her safety. She requested that the order go beyond a year, requesting it last “99 years” because she says he had shown “no indication that he will stop his frightening and dangerous behavior after one year.”

In her request, Sadeghi wrote, “he has said many times that nothing short of his own death would make him leave me alone, so I would like the order to last as long as possible.”

The order was filed exactly one week before Khodakaramrezaei murdered Sadeghi and her husband. The stalker died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after.
