Grizzlies Superstar Ja Morant Accused of Beating Up, Pulling Gun On Teenager At Pickup Basketball Game Last Summer

Yikes.

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been accused of repeatedly punching and flashing a gun at a 17-year-old during a pickup basketball game at Morant’s house in Tennessee last summer.

The alleged incident has been known for a while, but police reports have added more context to the story.

Per reports, the teenage player threw a basketball towards Morant which struck him in the chin. Morant then proceeded to punch the boy “12 or 13 times” while his friends added another “four or five” more blows.

It is claimed that Morant then went inside and returned with a gun tucked inside his waistband.

The Grizzlies star does not deny the altercation, saying that he “swung first” on the teenager, but believes that it was in self-defense.

This occurred four days after an incident in a Memphis mall, where Morant reportedly made threatening remarks to a security guard.

He was also investigated by the NBA earlier this year for a conflict with the Indiana Pacers after members of Indiana’s travelling party claimed the SUV Morant was riding in shined red lasers towards them.

A lot of bad looks for one of the NBA’s brightest stars.
